The Mental Wellness Awareness Association is bringing Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor Training to Pennsylvania during the week of March 20th – 24th, 2017. Financial support for this training is provided in part by the PA Department of Human Services, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. This training is fully accredited by The National Council for Behavioral Health. Upon successful completion, national certification for three years.

What is Youth MHFA Instructor Training?

It’s an intensive 5-day course, conducted by two national trainers, to enable successful instructors to conduct 8-hour Youth MHFA (“YMHFA”) classes.

Nationally certified YMHFA instructors receive a kit that contains YMHFA teaching materials such as PowerPoint slides, film clips on DVDs, teaching notes and resources folders, along with informative pamphlets, books and fact-sheets. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for the week.

Those successfully completing the YMHFA instructor training are required to teach three 8-hour MHFA classes per year.
