Harvest Home

I grew up going to Silver Springs Flea Market (where Wegmans is now) just about every Sunday that weather permitted. I grew to love and appreciate the value of things that others gave up on. This mentality served me well in my adult life where I found myself a single mom of 4 children on a meager budget. Yard Sales gave me more "bang for my buck" on just about everything. When my finances improved it was too late, I was hooked and the thought of a prefab home, garden, life was not appealing, I still gravitated to reinventing things to suit my needs and tastes. I have found kindred spirits in my Harvest Home gal pals. We have a core group of 5 but others join us as their schedules allow. This means there are new and different things each sale, no rent means our prices are pretty good and best of all we have fun. They , like me, "harvest" at church, estate and yard sales, flea markets , auctions and the most fun of all, RST (road side treasures ). One gal has a cottage on Cape Cod another lives in Valley Forge and they both grace our sales with finds not common to our local area. We all, for whatever reason, enjoy giving discarded /outdated things new life. A coat of paint, adding different legs or hardware, embracing the story told by the rust and the patina, finishing a quilt started years ago and found partial finished, remembering our grandmother's with vintage aprons, Pyrex and white gloves gives us a thrill unrivaled. The problem is, there only so much a home can handle. That is where the barn saved us, no rent , no rules , we are free to express ourselves and our junking habit in all ways possible. So a few times a years we organize and offer for sale things we are willing to pass on . This is not a shop/store, we open a few times a year and are available on what we call "work days" where we are painting, cleaning and organizing and can accommodate furniture pick-ups or a sneak peek at upcoming projects and new finds. Most of us have full time jobs, this is a passion, something we love doing.

A group of women who love turning junk into treasures. Eclectic mix of vintage styles & repurpose furniture with home decor from Shabby Chic to Rustic.
